Pierre O’Reilly’s path to a career in music has been far from straightforward. Having served as 3rd and 2nd Navigating Officer in the Merchant Navy for over 4 years, he decided to pursue his passion of music. A graduate of the Royal College of Music and MTU Cork School of Music, Pierre is a London-based composer and producer.  He is a recipient of The Worshipful Company of Musicians’ Silver Medal.

An Irishman with french blood, his career to date has seen him collaborate with award-winning London studio MOTH, New York based HORNET, creative agency ACROSS THE POND and animation studio BUCK. Clients include The New York Times, The Guardian News and Media and Google.

As Producer, his work includes the world premiere of Aliens Live (James Cameron's 1984 sci-fi motion picture with live orchestra) in 2016, James Horner: A Life In Music in 2017 and Blade Runner Live (Ridley Scott’s 1982 noir sci-fi classic with live band) in 2019. Pierre is the lead producer of Avatar Live In Concert with the world premiere taking place at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October 2024.

Pierre’s composition work includes composing the music for 2 six-part Emmy-nominated (2019) New York Times series entitled 'Conception’ and Laurence Ralph’s ‘The Torture Letters’ (2020) for The New York Times and Princeton University.
